The Operations Manager position is a full-time position with extensive travel requirements. Pre-employment background and drug screening are required.
Operations Manager Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations Manager Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and lead a Team of Supplier Specialist Team (SST) and Rapid Response Team (RRT)
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers
- Ensure the team meets OEM’s communication, delivery, and performance standards
- Responsible for improving supplier communication, on-time delivery, and corrective actions
- Maintain and monitor performance KPI’s and Metrics
- Participate in candidate recruiting, new hire training, and professional development of staff
- Fully understand the Customer’s product, production schedule, and supply chain issues
- Understand supplier dynamics and delivery challenges and lead the team to identify and minimize risk and opportunities to support improvement
- Ensure the team is familiar with and properly implementing OEM Standardized tools and procedures
- As required, work directly with program managers to ensure customer requirements are met
- Set expectations and evaluate performance of all direct reports, including planning, assigning, and directing work, conducting reviews and using positive reinforcement to motivate achievement and disciplinary action within company policies, and addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Set an example for employees by modeling the behaviors that help lead to success at OEM, such as dependability, integrity, cooperation, commitment to quality and customer service, open communication, flexibility, and creativity
- Adheres to all OEM rules, codes of conduct, and quality procedures
- Monitor expenses and find cost-saving opportunities
- Travel is required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills:
- US citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience required (Aerospace, Defense, Ship Building, or Submarine Industry experience preferred)
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license and must successfully complete a pre-employment motor vehicle history check
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management, Customer Service, and Shop Floor Management
- Experience with continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing principles, Risk Management, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, PDCA preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong independent decision-making skills, excellent analytical skills, and professional judgment
- Demonstrable experience gained in a similar ‘hands on’ manufacturing operational leadership role – where you have performed a broad range of duties
- Experience of delivering operational business results delivering on time, to quality and margin targets
- Experience of analyzing manufacturing performance indicators to make data driven decisions to drive results
- Proficiency in identifying talent and developing succession plans
- A history of positively influencing individuals and teams across functional lines
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs required
